Sheriff’s office investigating copper thefts from Bluegrass cell towers
Monday, July 28, 2014 — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating copper thefts from two Bluegrass Cellular cell towers in Nelson County.
At about 10:45 Monday morning a deputy sheriff was dispatched to the cell tower in the 2300 block of New Haven Road for a report of missing copper. At 12:40 p.m. a second copper theft was reported at a Bluegrass cell tower on South St. Gregory Church Road. The thefts were discovered by employees who were checking the towers following the weekend storms.
